Just in time for Halloween, French hard rock sensation BlackRain unleashes “Méandres de l’instinct”, a darkly magnetic new single that marks a major first in the band’s history — a song entirely performed in French.
Exploring the tangled pathways of desire and temptation, “Méandres de l’instinct” delves into the shadows of human emotion, perfectly in tune with the spirit of the season.
The track’s music video, filmed within the hauntingly beautiful halls of the Château de Montfleury www.chateau-montfleury.fr , draws heavy inspiration from Francis Ford Coppola’s Dracula. Bathed in candlelight and gothic atmosphere, the clip evokes the grandeur and sensual darkness of classic vampire cinema.
Rising French actress Mathilde Cerf stars in the video, alongside Linda Willjamy and LaurHell, who embody two eerie ghouls — and who also happen to be the real-life partners of Swan Hellion and Matthieu de la Roche. The video was directed by Matthieu de la Roche, bringing BlackRain’s vision to life with cinematic flair and a deep sense of gothic romanticism.
“Méandres de l’instinct” will appear on Orphans of the Light, the band’s forthcoming album, due out February 27, 2026. The record promises to fuse BlackRain’s trademark hard rock energy with lyrical depth and a darker, more introspective edge.
With its release arriving as nights grow longer and shadows stretch across the land, “Méandres de l’instinct” is both a celebration of the band’s evolution and a perfect soundtrack for Halloween’s haunting allure.
