BlackRain delivers a punchy, furious single with “Disagree”, continuing their series of monthly releases—each accompanied by a music video—leading up to the release of their upcoming album Orphans of the Light, due out on February 27, 2026, via Single Bel.
Now composed of Swan Hellion (vocals/guitar), Matthieu De La Roche (bass), Franky Costanza (drums), and new guitarist Jerem G, the band makes a strong impression this July with a video shot in a setting that’s as steamy as it is electrifying.
A shoot done on the fly… and by instinct.
The setting? Alpy Bières, an iconic pub in Annecy. A no-frills venue where anything still seems possible—chosen by bassist Matthieu De La Roche, who also directed the video:
“I’m a regular there. It’s the kind of place where you can still get away with a lot, and it fit perfectly with the spirit of the track, which expresses a real need for freedom. The venue had never hosted a production of this scale, so we had to adapt. We expanded the stage. We brought in a light show. We put out a call on social media to rally fans and friends. We didn’t know what to expect… and in the end, the place was packed: a whole biker club, two stuntmen, and loads of familiar faces from over the years. We improvised with everyone there. I really wanted to keep a raw, punk spirit for this video.”
A bold punk spirit… and a new deal with Rage Tour
It’s no coincidence this new track sounds so feral: BlackRain has just announced their signing with booking agency Rage Tour, known for backing the most demanding metal and punk scenes.
For Swan Hellion, singer and main songwriter, Disagree sets the tone:
“It might be my favorite track on the album. It’s super direct, with a chorus that’s easy to sing along to live. It’s about how hard it’s become just to voice your opinion. We’re living in a time where people dig in their heels, where disagreement is frowned upon. To me, that’s the exact opposite of the rock spirit.”
