It’s a big day for BLACKRAIN! The French hard rock band is unveiling “Crack The Sky,” the first single from their upcoming album Orphans of the Light, set for release on February 27, 2026, via Single Bel.
Featuring Swan Hellion (vocals/guitar), Matthieu De La Roche (bass), Franky Costanza (drums), and new guitarist Jerem G, BLACKRAIN makes a powerful comeback with a fiery new music video — one that almost didn’t happen. Bassist and director Matthieu De La Roche shares the story:
“The day before the shoot, snow blocked access to the fort where we were supposed to film. A fan saved the day by finding us a warehouse in the Maurienne Valley. But that location didn’t fit the original track anymore. So we changed everything at the last minute. Everyone was stressed out. The result? A raw, intense video with lots of flames — in the spirit of Untamed, but even hotter.”
Not content with just one single, BLACKRAIN is going all-in with an ambitious plan: one music video per month leading up to the album release.
“We’re bringing back the spirit of the 45 rpm single,” explains Swan Hellion. “Nowadays, people mostly listen to playlists, not full albums. So we want to give each track its moment, with a video to spotlight it. It’s a massive undertaking, but it’s worth it.”
